Heritage Christian Online School (HCOS) is a thriving learning community offering K-12 home, in-class and online education to students across the province of BC. HCOS provides flexible solutions and programming tailored to every child's learning journey. HCOS Education Assistants are independent contractors who are resourceful and innovative educators, providing student support to Home Learners within the Inclusive Education Department.

Summary

We are looking for a part-time Education Assistant who has a desire to learn and grow in knowledge of supporting a

grade 12

student in

Kelowna, BC,

for

12 hrs/week

during the 2025/26 school year.

Additional hours

supporting students in Kelowna may be available.

Specific training working with students with diverse abilities, such as an Education Assistant certificate (or equivalent), is preferred.

Responsibilities

As an Education Assistant, your duties and responsibilities with this student will include:

Supporting student in English 11, Science 10 and Careers 10 to help them achieve their learning goals Assisting with the development of executive functioning, task initiation and completion, and self-confidence Building positive connections and a solid rapport with the student ??Contributing to the social, spiritual, and academic growth of the student, providing mentorship to the whole person ??Assisting in carrying out IEP goals, working alongside the broader student support team
