Part-Time (20 hours per week) - Remainder of the 2025-2026 School Year
Queen Margaret's School is seeking a compassionate and dynamic Educational Assistant to join our Senior School team for the remainder of the academic year. At QMS, Educational Assistants work in close collaboration with classroom teachers and Learning Support Teachers to foster academic growth, confidence, and independence. The successful candidate will bring empathy, creativity, and professionalism to their daily work--helping students thrive both inside and outside the classroom.

Key Responsibilities
Support the implementation of strategies and goals outlined in Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
Provide direct support to students with identified exceptionalities, under the guidance of the Learning Support Teacher and classroom teachers
Keep accurate records of student progress and engagement
Collaborate with colleagues to foster an inclusive, student-centered learning environment
Assist in creating a positive, respectful, and safe learning atmosphere
Bring energy, enthusiasm, and a genuine love of learning to the classroom
Participate in meetings, training, and school events as required
Qualifications and Experience
Required:
Completion of a recognized Educational Assistant, Special Education Assistant, or School and Community Support Worker program (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
Experience supporting students with diverse learning or behavioural needs in an educational setting
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a collaborative, team-focused approach
Cultural awareness and sensitivity to working in a diverse community
Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector screening
Preferred:
Level 1 First Aid Certificate
Experience supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
Familiarity with trauma-informed and inclusive education practices

Compensation:
$42,000 annually (pro-rated for part-time hours), plus access to a comprehensive benefits package for eligible employees.
