Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Education Assistant to join our team and support teacher effectiveness with learners who require individualized supports for severe challenges, while promoting their independence.

About Us

We provide Early Childhood Services to 3-5 year olds who require additional support in preschool, daycare and kindergarten programs. As an Educational Assistant, you will be an integral part of a collaborative team that includes parents, program teachers, certificated teacher and a therapy team.

Position Details

School year program, end dates vary in June depending on location. Experience with children requiring additions support, including behaviour challenges is essential. ECE Level Certification is required. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of young children. Responsibilities

- Provide care and supervision for preschool-aged children

- Collaborate with teachers to create an engaging and age-appropriate lesson plans

- Support children's learning in math, literacy and social skills

- Monitor and assess children's progress, providing feedback to teachers

- Assist with classroom and behaviour management strategies

- Foster a safe, inclusive and nurturing environment for children

Skills Needed

- Level 1 Early Childhood Education certification or currently working toward completion

- Strong communication skills (verbal and written)

- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

- Knowledge of early childhood education principals

- Patience, empathy and a love for working with young children

- Adaptability to meet individual children's needs and provide differentiated instruction.

- Must have a clear Police Clearance and Vulnerable Sector Check completed

- Must be legally able to work in Canada (applicants outside Canada need not apply

Hours:

Work hours will vary by location.

Job Type: Seasonal

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
