Heritage Christian Online School (HCOS) is a thriving learning community offering K-12 home, in-class and online education to students across the province of BC. HCOS provides flexible solutions and programming tailored to every child's learning journey. HCOS Education Assistants are independent contractors who are resourceful and innovative educators, providing student support to Home Learners within the Inclusive Education Department.

Summary

We are looking for a part-time Education Assistant to provide in-home support to a Grade 8 student in

Chilliwack (Rosedale), BC,

for 8 hours per week during the 2025/26 school year.

Specific training working with students with diverse abilities, such as an Education Assistant certificate (or equivalent), is preferred.

Responsibilities

As an Education Assistant, your duties and responsibilities with this student will include:

Providing patient, compassionate, trauma-informed support to a Grade 8 student with FASD, focusing on building trust and a positive relationship Supporting the student in academic areas (working below grade level), using strategies such as breaking tasks into manageable steps and employing creative approaches to promote understanding ??Contributing to the social, spiritual, and academic growth of the student, providing mentorship to the whole person ??Assisting in carrying out IEP goals, working alongside the broader student support team
