15.75 \xe2\x80\x93 19.20 per hour (Category 2)
17.78 \xe2\x80\x93 21.62 per hour (Category 3)
Overall Accountability
The Education Assistant works in the classroom assisting students with diverse learning needs. This includes those who have academic, social, emotional and communication needs (mild \xe2\x80\x93 severe) and/or reflect an Educational Support I (ES-I) learning profile. The Noon Hour Assistant provides general assistance, direction and supervision to students.
Specific Accountabilities

• 
  Assists students individually and in small groups
• 
  Assists students\xe2\x80\x99 self-care (dressing, toileting, etc.)
• 
  Assists with assessment and data tracking
• 
  Provides general supervision of students during out of class time
• 
  Assists in planning and supervising field trips
• 
  Photocopying, typing, computer data entry, phoning, bulletin boards, preparing charts, and teaching materials
• 
  Contributes to class planning activities, behavior and progress reviews
• 
  Assists with the implementation of Learner Support and other response plans
• 
  Assists students during school celebrations, liturgical events, services and attendance at Mass at local parishes
• 
  Supervises students in the lunchroom, hallways and playground
• 
  Oversees students operating the school store
• 
  Assists in the classroom, office or library as required

• 
  Category 2 \xe2\x80\x93 High School Diploma
• 
  Category 3 \xe2\x80\x93 High School Diploma and the equivalent of minimum one (1) year post-secondary course study
• 
  May require any of the following depending upon assignment:
  • 
    Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation and First Aid Certificates
  • 
    Behaviour management training
  • 
    Lifting techniques
  • 
    Rehabilitation experience
  • 
    Restrictive intervention practices
• 
  Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
