Job Description

KIN-DIR Education Foundation is a not-for-profit, Alberta Education-approved independent Early Childhood Services (ECS) operator serving Calgary and area. We specialize in screening, assessing, and treating developmental delays and disabilities in children aged 2 years and 8 months to kindergarten age.

Our multidisciplinary team includes Speech-Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Psychologists, certificated teachers, educators, and support staff all dedicated to early childhood development. We also work with families in managing challenging behaviors, developmental milestones, and positive parenting strategies. Services are provided in diverse settings, including preschools, daycares and family homes.

We are seeking a full-time Education Assistant to join our team at the Airdrie location for the 2025-2026 school year. Duties will include, but not limited to:

Carrying out and facilitating a child's IPP goals as directed by the educators/certificated teachers

Implementing strategies consistently to support a child's success within the classroom and/or home environment as needed

Communicating regularly, effectively, and clearly on the child's progress to the educators/certificated teachers, and be able to show a written understanding of a child's current level of performance

Supporting the educators/certificated teachers in the classroom and/or partner programs on understanding and following through with strategies

Completing IPP documentation and attendance records for each Kin-Dir child regularly

Developing and create materials to support the child throughout their day

Required skills, abilities and experience:



Strong understanding of hygiene and positive behaviour support strategies

Previous experience working with children with exceptional needs, especially in providing hygiene and behavioral support

Able to safely lift up to 50 lbs.

Able to drive from one location to another (paid mileage)

Able to remain calm and composed in challenging situations

Exceptional time management and organizational skills with minimal direction

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Basic computer skills and basic knowledge of Board Maker, virtual meeting applications, cloud storage (ex. One Drive) and MS Office 365 suite

Flexible and adaptable to a changing work environment and operational needs of the program

Able to work and collaborate within a team, and able to take initiative and work independently

Required documentation:



Academic degree or diploma in a related field from a recognized institution, have at least 1 year of experience working in a classroom and/or home setting supporting children with special needs, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience, including practicum experience

Valid Class 5 Driver's License

Valid Class 4 Driver's License an asset

Alberta Child Care Level 1/2/3 Certificate preferred

Valid Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Search Disclosure

Valid Child Care First Aid and CPR

Clear Intervention Record Check

Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 10 months

Pay: Up to $30.00 per hour
