Education and Community Engagement Assistant



Peer support is a vital component of the recovery journey for people facing challenges. It offers empathy, validation, and hope from those with lived and living experience of their own, complementing other methods, services and treatments and supports the journey to recovery and wellness.

The Mental Health Education Resource Centre is a contact point for individuals and families looking for resources, books, and educational opportunities to learn about their mental health and how to find and receive support.

Position Details



: 35 hours per week, Tuesday to Saturday, 9:00 - 4:00 PM

: 100-4 Fort Street, Winnipeg

: 20.00 per hour

: 6-month term

Desired Skills & Knowledge



- Self-identify as an individual with, or a family member affected by, mental health or substance-use challenges

- Respects and promotes a culturally diverse population

- Ability to work from an anti-racist and anti-oppression framework

- Proficient with Microsoft office tools and software, Canva, and Zoom

- Proficient with Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn

- Able to work independently while understanding the benefit of communication within the team

Position Duties



- Develop content to increase connection through social media platforms

- Provide support to peer facilitators delivering educational workshops

- Provide support to individuals and family members accessing physical and online library resources

- Support individuals and families in discovering and accessing mental health resources

- Attend resource fairs and community events
