As a Senior Hydrologeologist, you will join our interdisciplinary team of water resources scientists and environmental professionals. You have a passion for water resources, are technically skilled in implementing and managing field programs, and apply your expertise to practical solutions.

This position is permanent full-time and can be based out of any of our offices. Remote working locations will be considered. As a member of our Water Resources team, you will lead or support hydrogeology, water quality and and water resource related projects to enhance our Environmental Service offering in a variety of sectors. You will provide regulatory and technical support to project managers and clients in support of various projects. You will have mentorship and the opportunity to set the course for your career, and you will provide mentoring to staff and participate in business development initiatives.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:



Leading, designing, and overseeing groundwater drilling and hydrogeological field programs, including borehole logging, monitoring-well installations, aquifer testing (slug and packer testing), and well development.

Directing and interpreting hydrogeologic analyses, including aquifer test results, water quality, groundwater-surface-water interactions, and conceptual model development.

Providing senior technical review and guidance for hydrogeology assessments, aquifer characterization, and baseline hydrogeology studies.

Managing and interpreting aqueous-geochemistry and groundwater-quality data, including temporal trend and geochemical evolution analyses. Water quality analysis may include surface water quality projects.

Providing guidance, training and direction to junior and intermediate team members to support successful completion of projects and development of the group.

Preparing high quality technical reports, and supporting regulatory approval and permitting applications, and serve as senior reviewer or lead author.Mentor and train junior and intermediate staff in hydrogeologic field methods, data analysis, and professional development.

Contributing to business development, proposal writing, and scoping for new opportunities in the mining, infrastructure, and resource sectors.

Participating proactively in EDI's health and safety program.

We are looking for someone with:



Experience and familiarity with hydrogeology and regulations in the Mining Sector in BC and Yukon.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities and ability to make timely decisions.

Demonstrated experience in hydrogeology, monitoring well installations, packer testing, and water quality analysis, with experience in consulting. field hydrometric installation and streamflow measurements, and experience with consulting and the mining sector.

Strong organizational, interpersonal skills and exceptional time management skills.

Willingness to foster a professional, productive, and growth-minded work environment.

Able to simultaneously organize and manage tight timelines and multiple priorities.

Able to travel for field work in remote locations and/or between our offices.

Job requirements include:



Bachelor's or graduate degree in Geosciences or Engineering with a focus on hydrogeology, water science, water resource engineering or equivalent experience.

Professional registration, or eligibility to obtain registration is required (e.g. P.Geo. or P. Eng. P. Ag. or other relevant professional designation).

A minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience related to hydrolgeology, and preference will be given to candidates with environmental consulting experience;

Experience working safely in remote areas, and in variable weather conditions, including northern climates;

Familiarity with common groundwater and other relevant software would be an asset (eg: GoldSim, MODFLOW, AquiferTest, AQUACHEM, Leapfrog, R/RStudio);

Must be legally eligible to work in Canada; and

Class 5 driver's license.

The typical compensation range for this position is from $100,000 - $146,000 annually; the compensation offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity.
