Job Description


The ShopHERE program is designed to assist small business owners become e-commerce enabled and is part of the Digital Main Street (www.digitalmainstreet.ca) initiative profiled in the media recently by Retail-Insider, The Globe and Mail, the Toronto Star and Notable.

We are looking for students and recent grads across Canada who are passionate about supporting small businesses overcome the challenges of breaking into the digital marketplace and succeed in the \xe2\x80\x9cnew normal\xe2\x80\x9d of retail. The ShopHERE team will be comprised of digital innovators, with the proven ability to build meaningful connections and lead through change.

In this role, you\xe2\x80\x99re hands on with businesses from concept through to launching their site, as well assisting in marketing and promotion of the site. Achieving this requires collaboration with the business owner in selecting and implementing a Shopify template while incorporating business branding and logos, providing support during the website launch and training on website maintenance and order fulfillment.

Beyond this, we want to ensure businesses have the skills to continue succeeding in the future. You\xe2\x80\x99ll empower business owners with the skills they need to optimize their efforts going forward by taking advantage of program partnerships, including but not limited to Facebook shopping, eBay integration, and more.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in or a recent graduate of a program at a Canadian post-secondary institution
  • Be a top tier communicator in English (written and verbal)
  • Proven ability to create meaningful relationships through a variety of remote media and nurture those relationships over time
  • Possess excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Demonstrated success in a client facing digital marketing role, including developing strategy,
campaigns, and executing projects * A basic understanding, obtained through experience, of building a digital marketplace (using

platforms like Shopify, Squarespace, Wix, etc), including best practices, technical configuration
and support * Be familiar with digital technologies for small business (e.g: web, social media, e-commerce)
  • Must have access to a computer/laptop
  • The below would be considered a strong asset:
  • Previous examples of success with the Shopify platform
  • Experience with online and offline marketing
Contract Dates: September 18th - March 29th, 2023

Days of Work: Monday to Friday 9am-5pm (though flexibility to work outside of this is required to be able to meet client needs)
Wage: $20 an hour paid as salary based on 40 hours a week
