SMILE N PLAY DAYCARE



We are a licensed home-based childcare facility providing a warm, nurturing, and safe environment for children aged 0-12 years. Our program is rooted in play-based learning and guided by BC's Early Learning Framework. We are seeking a passionate, reliable, and qualified ECE to join our small but dedicated team.

Duties



Directly work with the Operations Manager and Director/Owner. Supervise children and taking care of kids in the care. MAX (8) Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities and experiences Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment Supervise children at all times, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being Maintain daily records, observations, and communication with families Follow all Fraser Health and licensing regulations and safety standards Assist with meals, diapering/toileting, and cleaning duties Communicate effectively with children, families, and team members Manage and coordinate all facility maintenance activities, including preventive maintenance and emergency repairs. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations within the facility. Have an ability to maintain a strong, positive, and supportive relationship with parents, families. Be familiar with Child Care Licensing Regulations in BC and the BC Early Learning Framework Stay up-to-date with changing government programs and requirements Ensure that the facility and equipment are kept safe for children. Early Childhood Education Diploma required, Bachelor's Degree in Child & Youth Care or relevant field is preferred Valid BC Driver's License and reliable vehicle Valid First Aid / CPR-C Criminal Record Check required Proven experience in facilities management or a related field is required. Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team. Excellent problem-solving skills with a logical approach to troubleshooting issues as they arise. Effective communication skills in English to interact with staff at all levels and Parents.

Qualifications:



Valid Early Childhood Educator Certificate (ECE) from BC Current First Aid & CPR Certificate (Childcare-specific) Valid Criminal Record Check (or willingness to obtain one) Immunization records as required by licensing Experience working in small-group or home-based settings is an asset Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills

Work Environment:



Cozy home-based facility with a low child-to-educator ratio Supportive and collaborative environment Fixed hours 8:30am to 5:00pm Monday to Friday
