Job Overview

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Childhood Educator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating a nurturing and stimulating environment for young children (0-3 years old), fostering their social, emotional, and cognitive development. You will work closely with children, parents, and staff to implement educational programs that meet the needs of each child while promoting a love for learning. Our opening hours are Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:30 pm.

Responsibilities

Create and implement a Reggio Emilia Approach Curriculum that encourages exploration and discovery Develop and implement age-appropriate activity plans that align with early childhood education standards. Create a safe, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment that encourages exploration and learning. Observe and assess children's development, providing feedback to parents on their progress. Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's needs and development. Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the educational experience for all students. Maintain accurate records of student progress and classroom activities. Demonstrate strong organizational skills to manage classroom activities and materials effectively. Utilize technology for activity planning, record keeping, and communication purposes.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field is preferred.

ECE Certificate and ECE IT Certification

(from a recognized institution)(Infant Toddler and Special Needs Certification an asset) Valid

First Aid & CPR Certification

Clear

Criminal Record Check

Knowledge of early childhood education principles and practices. At least 1+ year experience working with children in an educational setting is highly desirable. Strong time management skills to balance multiple responsibilities effectively. Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact with children, parents, and colleagues. Leadership abilities to guide classroom activities and support fellow educators. Familiarity with computer operation for administrative tasks related to teaching. Understanding of special education practices is a plus, particularly for working with children with disabilities.

Salary:

ECE-IT $27 - $30 an hour Above wage grid has taken into account $6 per hour Provincial ECE Wage Enhancement which our facility is approved for.
