We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Educator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education and experience working with children, including those with disabilities. This role involves creating a nurturing and engaging classroom environment that fosters learning and development for all students. The Educator will collaborate with parents, caregivers, and other professionals to support the educational needs of each child.
Responsibilities
1. Supporting Daily Classroom Activities
Assist lead educators in implementing daily routines and educational activities
2. Supervision & Safety
Supervise children at all times to ensure a safe and secure environment
Monitor children during indoor and outdoor play
Conduct regular head counts and maintain awareness of group dynamics
Report any accidents, injuries, or concerns to supervising staff promptly
3. Break Coverage
Provide coverage for staff during their breaks (e.g., lunch or rest periods)
Step into classrooms or playgrounds to maintain staff-child ratios
Follow the routines and guidance left by the regular educator
Ensure continuity of care and smooth transitions during staff absences
4. Caregiving & Routine Support
Assist with diapering, toileting, and changing clothes as needed
Help serve snacks and meals, ensuring proper hygiene
Support nap time routines--setting up sleep areas and helping children settle
Help maintain cleanliness and organization of shared spaces
5. Communication & Teamwork
Communicate effectively with lead educators and coworkers
Relay any observations or concerns about children's development or behavior
Maintain a positive and respectful attitude with children, staff, and families
Participate in team meetings and training when required
6. Light Administrative Support
Help with documenting daily activities or incident reports when requested
Assist with attendance records and child sign-in/sign-out
Maintain confidentiality of all child and family information
Help with setting up and cleaning up classroom materials and play areas
Engage with children during free play, structured activities, and transitions
Support children in learning self-help skills (e.g., hand washing, putting on shoes)
Experience
Proven experience in educating young children, preferably in an early childhood setting.
Familiarity with working with children who have disabilities or special needs is highly desirable.
Background in caregiving or related fields is a plus.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with families and staff.
