Job Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic and talented Level 3 early childhood educator, with strong leadership skills to join our team in a supervisory role

Required Credentials:

- Valid First Aid and CPR Certificate for a child care setting

- Child development childcare certification (ECE Level 3)

- Valid Police Check with vulnerable sector search dated within 6 months of hire date

Required Skills:

- 2 to 3 years experience working with children

- Lead educator responsible for the smooth running of the classroom

- Discuss progress and problems of children at staff meetings, bring to the attention of the Director as needed

- Guide children towards positive behaviour

- Bathe, diaper and feed children as required

- Plan and implement programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children through effective emergent program planning

- Prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods

- Prepare written observations on children to incorporate into program plans

Additional Skills:

- Maintain daycare equipment and assist in housekeeping and cooking duties

- Keep up to date child records

- Attend staff meetings to discuss progress of children and seek support and guidance from staff and director as needed.

- Support educators as needed

- Role model best practices in daily interactions with families, staff and within the program

- Build and maintain a relationship of trust and respect with children and their families
