Role Overview
We are seeking a passionate and experienced
Alberta ECE Level 3 (Child Development Supervisor)
to join our team in a dual leadership capacity:
Phase 1 (initial period, length to be determined): Program Supervisor
Oversee daily program operations and ensure compliance with Alberta licensing standards.
Mentor and support educators (Levels 1-2), model best practices, and maintain child-to-staff ratios.
Build strong communication with families and support parent engagement.
Maintain accurate records for curriculum, attendance, incidents, and licensing.
Phase 2: Classroom Lead
Lead your own classroom, planning and delivering age-appropriate, play-based curriculum.
Foster a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment for children of diverse backgrounds and abilities.
Observe and document children's development and share progress with families.
Support onboarding and coaching of new staff while continuing to model leadership.
Responsibilities
Oversee the development and implementation of age-appropriate curriculum.
Supervise staff and ensure compliance with educational standards.
Foster a safe, nurturing environment for children.
Collaborate with parents to support children's growth and development.
Monitor children's progress and adapt programs as needed.
Provide guidance on behavior management strategies.
Conduct training sessions for staff on best practices in early childhood education.
Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations.
Requirements
Alberta ECE Level 3 (Child Development Supervisor) - Required
Current
First Aid & CPR-C
certification.
Clear
Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector
(dated within 6 months or obtained before start).
Minimum
2-3 years of childcare experience
, with leadership/supervisory experience preferred.
Strong communication, organizational, and mentoring skills.
Assets (not required):
Food Safety certification.
Comfort working in a bilingual environment (Spanish an asset, not required).
