Canada Pension Plan Investment Board has an opening for an e-billing analyst in the Legal Department. Reporting to a Senior Advisor, Legal, this is an opportunity to join CPPIB\xe2\x80\x99s legal team and provide experiential insight and guidance on legal operations initiatives to help the efficiency of the organization. The successful candidate will join a dynamic team of legal and compliance professionals who engage directly with senior leadership, investment groups and other business units to help them navigate, understand and comply with regulatory requirements in a manner consistent with our Guiding Principles and our mandate to help ensure a stable retirement income for 20 million CPP contributors and beneficiaries. Role-Specific Accountabilities
  • Maintain ownership of the Matter Management system, including the e-/invoicing billing platform for law firm invoices.
  • Overall responsibility for invoice workflow, system configuration, administration, user support and training.
  • Interface with internal employees and external law firms to provide assistance and support with billing related queries regarding invoice submission, invoice status updates and resolve any billing system issues that arise.
  • Work closely with Accounting to complete new vendor forms, requesting and setting up banking details and assisting with any other requests.
  • Oversee all aspects of the e-billing platform, including the review of data, and the creation of reporting analytics, to execute our goals of effectively managing legal spend while improving quality, value, forecasting and predictability.
  • Analyze invoice rejections and/or reductions, resolve issues, coordinate and process revisions or adjustments through the e-billing platform.
  • General administrative support for management of law firm billing-related matters.
  • Help develop and roll out the technology roadmap and manage legal technology initiatives related to e-billing (such as matter management) by interacting with internal teams to help define scope and required resources, ensure progress, define deliverables, roll out change management, and report and communicate on progress.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to understand their reporting needs, extracting and analyzing data from multiple sources, and creating visually appealing and easy-to-understand dashboards.
  • Other legal and law firm-related operational administrative support as required.


Qualifications
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in a billing, finance, accounts payable or similar role.
  • Preference for experience with a matter management/e-billing platforms.
  • Strong data and data analytics skills including proficiency with data visualization tools and techniques.
  • Willingness to lead, create new ideas, and be assertive.
  • Quickly learn new systems and technology.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including ability to work cooperatively with many different stakeholders and ability to work effectively with outside counsel.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
  • Embraces accountability and ownership of team development at the group and individual levels.
  • Professional conduct reflecting the quality of work, demeanour, ethical values and high standards of CPP Investment Board.
