We are currently seeking a therapist (RCC, CCC or RPsych) who has experience working with individuals who are struggling with eating disorders and disordered eating to join our team. This is an

in-person

position with the option to also offer virtual services.

Being and Becoming Counselling and Wellness Services is a group counselling practice dedicated to supporting the mental health and personal growth of individuals in Burnaby and the broader community across BC. Our team of skilled psychologists, counsellor and dietitians is committed to providing compassionate, effective and personalized care that honours each client's unique journey.

A subspeciality within our practice is supporting individuals struggling with eating and/or body image-related challenges. Our approach is weight-inclusive and grounded in the Health at Every Size (HAES) philosophy. We support individuals struggling with the full spectrum of eating-related concerns and support them to build a more compassionate, respectful relationship with themselves and their bodies that is based on attunement, trust, and responsiveness.

At Being and Becoming Counselling and Wellness Services we believe that supporting individuals with body and eating-related concerns requires specialized training and experience. We also understand the unique challenges that can arise working with this population. There are many different shifts available including: day-time, evening and weekend, with both virtual and in-person options. The position is quite flexible and we can work with you to create your dream job!

Required Qualifications:



Minimum of a master's degree in social work, counselling or clinical psychology Registration with one of the following regulatory bodies or associations (British Columbia College of Social Workers, College of Care and Health Professionals of British Columbia, Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association, or the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors) Professional liability insurance

Minimum of one-year of experience working with individuals struggling with eating-related concerns

(i.e., eating disorders, disordered eating) and body image

Completion of training specific to supporting clients with eating disorders, disordered eating and/or body image

Additional Assets:



Ability to see clients during evening and/or weekend hours Experience and interest in working with youth and/or families Completed training in somatic approaches and/or trauma therapy Experience working with binge eating

Responsibilities:



Conducting individual counselling sessions in person (option to also add virtual services) Conducting intake assessments and developing treatment plans Use of evidence-based practices Maintaining timely clinical records Participate in regular consultation meetings with other members of the clinic
