Job Summary
Under the direct supervision of the Children's Programs Manager, the EarlyON Summer Program Worker will plan and implement age and environmentally appropriate activities for children 0-6 years old, and their parents and caregivers. Working within a Family Support/Health Promotion Framework this position will support the healthy growth and development of families through high quality early childhood programs.
The incumbent will ensure that all organizational policies are followed.
Primary Responsibilities
Work as a member of a multidisciplinary team of staff and volunteer to plan and implement age and environmentally appropriate activities for children 0-6 years old, and their parents and caregivers, within the EarlyON Child and Family Centres mandate.
Maintain set up and organization of room including daily sanitization of toys and equipment.
Provide community information to families, especially those new to Canada and the Etobicoke-Lakeshore community.
Plan and implement community outreach activities at local parks and community events.
Maintain records, statistics and record of daily events for internal purposes.
Assist with administrative tasks as required.
Required Qualifications
Was registered as a full-time student during the preceding academic year; Intends to return to school on a full-time basis in the fall of 2025; is under 30 years of age (in order to meet the HRSDC Canada Summer Jobs Criteria).
Enrolled in an Early Childhood Education and/or Social Service Worker Program.

Experience using social media platforms (i.e. Facebook) and working knowledge of video conferencing (i.e. Zoom).
Proof of successful Vulnerable Sector Check required prior to hiring.
Previous experience working with families and children from 0 - 6 from diverse backgrounds.
Demonstrated understanding of child development and issues facing families today.
Good communication, team work and problem solving skills.
A current G or G2 driver's license with a safe driving history and ability to lift and carry 25 pounds.
Knowledge of the Lakeshore community is an asset.
Cross cultural experience and/or a second language an asset.
Problem solving and communication skills with the ability to clearly convey information and ideas.
Positive attitude and dependable with strong initiative and the ability to work independently and in a team oriented atmosphere.
Solid working knowledge and ability to navigate a PC windows environment, including shared drives.
Working Conditions
May require working occasional evenings
Will involve working outdoors at local community parks.
Job locations vary and the job requires travelling to multiple locations.
Must be willing and able to drive the LAMP van.
Ability to effectively understand the appreciation of guiding fundamentals at LAMP and be able to model them, i.e. Health Promotion, Anti- Oppression; Harm Reduction and the principles of community-based practice. "Walk the Talk"
