The Mississauga Muslim Community Centre is committed to nurturing children's love for Islam from an early age. Our Sunday School provides authentic Islamic learning experiences that are age-appropriate, engaging, and fun, helping children develop a strong foundation of faith and character from the very beginning.
We are seeking a warm, creative, and knowledgeable teacher for our youngest students (ages 3-7) who can introduce Islamic teachings in a way that sparks curiosity, joy, and love for Allah ? and His Messenger ?.
Job Summary
The
Early Years Islamic Teacher
will teach and engage children aged 3-7 using interactive methods such as stories, songs, games, crafts, and activities. The ideal candidate will have both Islamic knowledge and the ability to translate it into fun, simple, and memorable lessons for very young learners.
Key Responsibilities
Teach core Islamic concepts to children ages 3-7 (e.g., basic Qur'an stories, short Du'as, Seerah highlights, Islamic manners, and simple Aqeedah concepts).
Develop creative and engaging lessons using stories, visuals, crafts, role play, and songs to ensure children remain attentive and excited to learn.
Foster a nurturing, safe, and fun classroom environment where children feel valued and encouraged.
Use age-appropriate methods to help children connect with Allah ? and the Prophet Muhammad ?.
Collaborate with other staff to plan lessons, coordinate activities, and contribute to school events.
Communicate with parents about their child's progress, strengths, and areas of growth.
Qualifications and Skills
Sound Islamic knowledge, firmly grounded in the Ahlu Sunnah wal Jama'h creed.
Prior experience teaching or working with young children (in a school, daycare, or community setting).
Strong ability to simplify and adapt Islamic knowledge for very young learners.
Creativity in using crafts, play-based learning, and interactive methods to teach.
Patience, warmth, and strong classroom management for early years.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Must live within or near Mississauga for punctuality and consistency.
A genuine passion for helping children begin their Islamic learning journey.
