The Early Years Program Facilitator support the delivery of high-quality programs and provide positive leadership for children and youth. This role involves assisting with the planning, organization, and facilitation of BGC South East programs that promote the personal, social, and emotional development of participants aged 4-18+. Leaders are expected to model positive behaviours, including honesty, respect, cooperation, and a positive attitude, while fostering a safe, engaging, and inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, lead, and actively participate in programs aligned with HIGH FIVE standards, the BGC Model for Success, and the four-pillar approach: Food & Nutrition, Health & Wellness, Physical Activity, and Education
Supervise children and youth, ensuring a safe, fun, and supportive program environment
Maintain required staff-to-child ratios at all times
Complete all necessary documentation, including incident and accident reports
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized program space
Implement behaviour management strategies fairly and consistently in accordance with BGC policies and procedures
Communicate and collaborate with the Supervisor/Coordinator to ensure programs meet BGC standards
Attend staff meetings and participate in required training sessions
Act as a positive representative of BGC South East within the community and with partner organizations
Qualifications & Requirements
Currently enrolled in or a graduate of a post-secondary program
Previous experience working in a child- or youth-focused program or camp setting
Valid Standard First Aid and CPR Level C certification
Up-to-date Tdap (10-year booster) and MMR immunizations
Criminal Reference Check, including a Vulnerable Sector Check
HIGH FIVE PHCD certification is considered an asset
