We are looking for a dedicated Early Years Mental Health Therapist who will adhere to the Centre's values and philosophies and be responsible for the development and implementation of the early years service model in collaboration with clients and community partners. This individual will have a keen interest in continuous professional and personal growth and sit as an important member of the Huron-Perth Centre clinical team. In support of our Strategic Directions, the Early Years Mental Health Therapist will work collaboratively with colleagues and community partners in the establishment of treatment plans with the child, youth and family.

What You'll be Doing:

Provide direct service, including assessment, individual, group and family therapy interventions and other related services to children and their parents/caregivers. These services could be within our brief or counselling and therapy core services. Work collaboratively with the HPC Intake team as well as staff in the Targeted Prevention, Intensive and Family Capacity Building core services Collaborate with community partners involved in supporting infant and early years mental health

Establish effective linkages with early years partners and support the development and maintenance of the infant and early mental health pathways in Huron-Perth

Develop intervention plans in collaboration with parents/caregivers/families/community partners, ensuring goals, intervention plans and outcomes are clear to all involved Participate in committees and meetings and represent the agency at community events; provide presentations on infant and early years mental health as required Provide therapeutic, clinical interventions that are aligned with HPC values, philosophy and evidence informed Ensure effective and efficient case management strategies are used to ensure the right care at the right time Coordinate services and advocate for other services and assessments as indicated through intervention planning and delivery Ensure up to date documentation as per HPC policies and procedures Ensure accurate and up to date data entry to capture service delivery Other duties as assigned
Supports Available:

Participate in regular supervision: individual supervision and group supervision with HPC staff across all the core services Collaborations with early years partners in the community Sick Kids IEYMH team Lead Agency Consortium Knowledge Institute on Child and Youth Mental Health
Quality and Continuous Improvement:

Participate in quality improvement activities within the Centre Develop and implement individual and program work plans to support implementation of the pathways work and the service model Participate in accreditation preparation and site reviews Adhere to all relevant legislation, as well as agency policies and procedures
What We're Looking For:

Masters level degree (desired) in an appropriate area for clinical work with children, adolescents and families/experience in a related setting Member of one of the approved colleges for the regulation of the controlled act of Psychotherapy Preferably 3 plus years of experience providing similar services in a child and youth mental health setting, early years setting, primary care community setting Valid Ontario driver's license and insurance Safe Management Crisis Intervention Training considered an asset

ASIST Suicide Intervention Training

Training and experience in providing direct clinical interventions with children, parents/caregivers/families Extensive knowledge of early child development, impact of adversity, family systems and the social/political determinants of health Experience and comfort developing programs and working closely with community partners in the implementation of services Strong verbal, presentation, and written communication skills. Excellent skills in diplomacy, tact, sensitivity, and adherence to requirements for privacy and confidentiality. Time management, organizational skills, and attention to accuracy and details Knowledge of child development and family dynamics Strong assessment, case formulation, and crisis intervention skills. Knowledge of best practice approaches to individual, group, and family interventions Knowledge of the issues and methods of program evaluation. Excellent knowledge of the roles of other professionals providing services to children with mental health, medical, and/or educational problems. Knowledge of common medications prescribed to children and youth with mental health issues. Clinical competence in the development and delivery of collaborative treatment plans and interventions. Excellent documentation skills: concise reports, progress updates and outcomes. Effective case management skills to prioritize needs within and across cases. Knowledge of practice guidelines to provide virtual mental health services. Computer and other information technology skills appropriate to the primary functions of the position. Ability and desire to enhance professional skills, knowledge, and continuous learning

Pay: $33.69-$41.08 per hour
