What You'll Do
As an Early Learning Teacher - Explorer Stream, you'll:
Lead engaging, developmentally appropriate lessons and activities aligned with Alberta's Early Learning and Child Care Framework.
Use creative, play-based learning techniques to support children's emotional, social, cognitive, and physical growth.
Provide support to children with daily care needs, including assistance with diapering, toileting, and hygiene routines.
Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team--such as Speech-Language Pathologist, Occupational Therapist, and Behavioral Consultant--to implement tailored strategies that meet each child's unique needs.
Build strong, supportive relationships with families to ensure they feel empowered and connected to their child's learning journey.
Create a classroom environment that celebrates diversity, inclusion, and belonging.
Assess developmental progress, adapt learning plans, and continuously monitor outcomes to help each child thrive.

About You
You're an experienced educator with a passion for creating inclusive, nurturing learning environments where children of all abilities and backgrounds can thrive. Integrity guides your work, ensuring that every decision aligns with your commitment to excellence. You excel in effective communication, building trust with families, collaborating seamlessly with teams, and fostering strong relationships. Your focus on results and service excellence drives you to create meaningful learning opportunities, while your strengths in planning, organizing, and coordinating ensure you can adapt to challenges with empathy and resilience.
Must-Haves:
Bachelor's Degree in Education with a specialization in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
Alberta Education Teaching Certificate (valid and in good standing).
Experience working with children who have complex needs, including behavioral challenges or developmental delays.
Willing participant in annual training in Safe Management practices (employer provided training).
Knowledge of trauma-informed practices and inclusive teaching strategies.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
Clear criminal record check with vulnerable sector completed obtained within 60-days of date of hire.
Valid Standard First Aid/CPR certification or completion within 30-days of hire.
Nice-to-Haves:
Familiarity with Alberta's Early Learning and Child Care Framework.
Experience working in culturally diverse and inclusive environments.
A love of hands-on, play-based learning (and maybe some great ideas for messy art projects!).

This is temporary full-time with an anticipated start date of August 29, 2025 ending June 26, 2026..
Compensation starts at $32.45/hour, with opportunities for growth based on experience and qualifications.
