As a Family Engagement Worker, you'll play a crucial role in fostering strong relationships with primary care givers and their children. You'll be responsible for intake, community networking, parent education and brief interventions all aimed at helping to create a family-friendly environment.

What You'll Do
Collaborate with classroom teams, agency, partners, and community stakeholders to create a family friendly environment and recruit families for programming
Enroll families by conducting assessments, collect necessary demographics, stats & documentation for programming and reporting purposes, in accordance with agency timelines and standards
Establish and promote referral relationships to facilitate access to services for families
Facilitate family programming to promote resilience in families
Coordinate referrals to resources for children who require further support

About You
You thrive in a collaborative, dynamic environment where no two days are the same, bringing integrity, empathy, and a passion for making a difference. With strong communication skills, you build trust and foster teamwork while delivering results and maintaining service excellence. Your ability to plan, organize, and adapt ensures efficiency in achieving goals. Bonus points if you have experience supporting children facing unique challenges or from diverse cultural backgrounds, as this enhances your ability to connect and contribute effectively.
Must-Haves
:
Bachelor of Social Work, Social Work diploma or post secondary degree in a human service-related field
Registered member of Alberta College of Social Workers or eligibility
Valid Driver's license and access to reliable vehicle, as traveling to sites and family homes is required
Proven ability to engage parents from vulnerable populations including refugees, those facing poverty, mental health, domestic violence, housing insecurity and children with developmental challenges
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Knowledge of trauma-informed practices (or a willingness to learn).
Willing participant in annual training in Safe Management practices (employer provided training).
Clear criminal record check with vulnerable sector completed obtained within 60-days of date of hire.
Valid Standard First Aid/CPR certification or completion within 30-days of hire.

:
A knack for creativity and problem-solving.
Experience in inclusive, multicultural environments.

This position is based in our north Edmonton site. Compensation starts at
$26.63/hour
, with increases based on experience and qualifications.
