As the Early Learning & Childcare Coordinator, you'll play a key leadership role in creating inclusive and culturally grounded early learning spaces. This role is grounded in Indigenous ways of knowing and being, ensuring that programming supports the physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs of children and families.
You'll lead and support a team of Early Learning Educators, collaborate across departments, and align programming with First Light's broader wellness and community development work. Your leadership will help foster belonging, growth, and resilience for young learners and their families.

What You'll Do
Program & Team Leadership
Oversee day-to-day operations, including program planning, staff supervision, and sector compliance.
Ensure high-quality, culturally relevant programming through curriculum oversight, teacher planning, and family engagement.
Hire, develop, and retain qualified, skilled, and caring Early Learning staff.
Create a work environment grounded in trust, care, and collaboration.
Culture & Community Connection
Foster a culture of inclusiveness, diversity, and Indigenous traditions in all aspects of programming.
Address and respond to concerns with respect and accountability.
Recommend and develop new opportunities to meet emerging community needs.
Administration & Accountability
Manage financial and administrative functions including invoicing, budgeting, statistics, payroll, and reporting.
Ensure adherence to First Light's policies and procedures.
Communicate consistently with staff, families, and leadership to support coordinated care.
Skills, Experience, and Requirements

To be eligible for this role, you must have:
Demonstrated leadership and supervision experience
Level 2 or above AECENL Certification
Valid RNC Vulnerable Sector Check
First Aid/CPR Certification
What could support success in this role:
Diploma and/or degree in Early Childhood Education (or related field)
Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
Experience working independently and as part of a team
Knowledge of Indigenous culture or willingness to learn

Pay: $21.25-$37.59 per hour
