Part-time Early Learner Teaching Assistant

Kumon West Shore - Langford

Kumon is the world's largest after-school learning program, with 3.5 million enrolments worldwide. It is an individualized study method that enables students to become self-learners.

We are currently seeking a part-time Early Learner Teaching Assistant at our Langford centre. This position is a great opportunity if you are considering a career in teaching or childcare or have previous experience in these fields.

Applicants must be available on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 3:00 to 6:30p.m.

Qualifications

Strong oral reading skills

High school diploma or equivalent. Some university education is preferred

Mature and detailed oriented

Enjoy working with K to 5

Team player

Specific Responsibilities

familiarize earlier learners and new students with the centre routine

learn the Kumon method and guide students to develop work skills

sit with early learners to help them acquire basic math and reading skills such as phonics, counting and pencil skills

grade and record students' work

prepare students' work-assignment folders

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
