Registered Early Childhood Educator
Home Comforts Childcare is a Family Age Grouping facility caring for children ages 0 - 4 years of age. We strive to provide a home like setting using nature and our community as our learning environment.

We are currently looking for a fun, energetic positive person who enjoys the outdoors, is creative, enthusiastic and finds fun in everyday learning with children.

Do you enjoy working with children, documenting their learning and planning next steps in their learning process?

Are you someone who thinks outside the box, is open to "Risky Play" and enjoys letting the children lead the way in their learning?

We would love to have you join our team of Early Childhood Educators.

We need someone who is

available between 7:30 and 5:30 able to work a flexible schedule, 3 - 5 days a week, both full days (9 hours with an hour for lunch) and half day shifts (4 hours with a 1/2 hour break)
Good communication is a must as you will be communicating regularly with coworkers to provide a seamless program. Together you will, share the children's experiences, interests, ideas and plan future opportunities for learning

Qualifications

Early Childhood Education Diploma

Registered member with the College of Early Childhood Educators

Valid Standard First Aid CPR/AED Level "C"

Negative Criminal reference check/Vulnerable Sector Check/ CAS

Food Handlers Certificate an asset

Knowledge of "How Does Learning Happen?"

Good oral communication skills

Responsibilities

Create a fun, engaging environment for children ages 0 - 4

Constant supervision of children between the ages of 0 - 4 years

Adherence to all of the duties and regulations under the CCEYA

Adherence to all professional responsibilities and conduct under the college of ECE

Uses full understanding of child development to guide children in their learning and self regulation skills

To participate independently and as part of a team, collaborating with coworkers to provide the best care

Establishes and maintains regular communication with parents and co workers

Observe, document and reflect on a daily basis to provide the best learning environment for the children

Create fun and engaging opportunities for children to explore daily based on your observations.

Work as team with coworkers to create continuity in programming throughout the room

Knowledge of and ability to implement the four foundations of How Does Learning Happen through observations, documentation and curriculum planning.

Job Types: Part-time, Casual

Pay: $20.20-$24.86 per hour
