Early Childhood Educator School Age Program
Job Description
We are seeking a passionate, certified Early Childhood Educator to join Prairie Lily Early Learning Centre to work with our school age children at our Normanview locations. The successful candidate must be passionate about working with our school age children ages 6-12, and should have some previous school age program experience. The candidate must be capable of planning daily activities including (but not limited to) art, sensory experiences, outdoor play, or organized group games. They will also be responsible for helping to guide emotions and behaviours while building relationships using a play based approach with children. We will be looking for candidates with strong skills in supporting the social and emotional development of children with strong classroom management skills.

Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will be responsible for:
Supporting children with their social and emotional development Developing a warm and inviting program where children are welcomed to be an active participant in learning and play opportunities Creating and following a daily routine that children can be successful in following Programming and planning a wide variety of daily activities Being present in interactions with children and working to help them develop self esteem and self regulation skills Communicating clearly with other team members to ensure that the program is operating efficiently Communicating clearly with parents and forming partnerships to support the children in the program
Experience
Previous experience working with children ages 6-12 is required Understanding of developmentally appropriate practices is required Understanding of play based curriculum and planning and programming is a preferred Behavioural Guidance training or specialization is preferred ECE Level 1, 2, or 3 applicants welcome - hourly wage depends on ECE certification Experience working as a member of a large and diverse team of Educators will be considered an asset

Pay: $15.35-$27.85 per hour
Expected hours: 10 - 25 per week
