Responsibilities
Develop and implement engaging, age-appropriate program plans that promote language, emotional, physical, cognitive and social development.
Create a positive classroom atmosphere through effective classroom management and behavior management strategies that encourage respectful interactions and independence.
Provide comprehensive childcare, ensuring each child's safety, comfort, and emotional well-being are prioritized at all times.
Conduct assessments of childhood development to tailor instruction and support early intervention efforts when needed.
Plan and execute lessons that incorporate hands-on activities, storytelling, art experiences and physical movement to enhance learning experiences.
Collaborate with families through clear communication about their child's progress and milestones.
Maintain detailed records of classroom activities, lesson plans, child welfare documentation, and progress reports in compliance with licensing standards.
Engage in ongoing professional development related to childhood development, preschool experience best practices, special education strategies, and tutoring techniques.
Foster a nurturing environment aligned with childcare standards for daycare settings or private schools dedicated to early childhood education.
Skills
Proven experience with children across various age groups, particularly in preschool or daycare settings.
Strong knowledge of childhood development principles and early intervention strategies.
Expertise in curriculum development with a focus on literacy education, math instruction, physical education, and classroom management techniques.
Familiarity with Montessori methods and standardized testing procedures for young learners.
Ability to manage behavior effectively while maintaining a positive classroom environment.
Excellent communication skills for engaging with children, parents, colleagues, and community partners.
Proficiency in program planning that incorporates diverse teaching methods
Knowledge of child welfare standards and best practices for childcare providers or private school educators.
Competence in utilizing classroom experience to foster inclusive learning environments that promote social-emotional growth.
