Planning and implementing purposeful experiences based on observation and conversation with children and families
Communicating with families daily and building relationships that strengthen a partnership in the learning and growth process
Attention to confidentiality and ensuring daily communication is demonstrated effectively, concisely both orally and in writing with families and co-workers
Demonstrating the ability to navigate a prepared environment as well as respond spontaneously to interests with regards to individual, small and large group settings
Planning and implementing daily group gatherings that are engaging, purposeful and rich in variety
Implementing the program routine with ease while maintaining a positive and consistent approach towards child and classroom management
Demonstrating an understanding of child development and the ability to connect paper to person in meaningful ways
Providing an emotionally supportive and physically safe environment showing sensitivity to the individual needs of children in all aspects of their development
Ensuring the safety of staff and children by learning and acknowledging all children's diverse needs, backgrounds, and creating equitable opportunities for all children to engage
Demonstrating respect for spaces by ensuring the safety and cleanliness of all equipment, furniture, and materials both indoors and outdoors
Balanced job sharing duties with regards to computer tasks, documentation
Taking initiative to participate in behind the scenes duties such as laundry and light housekeeping
Willingly performing and engaging in other related duties as they may be requested by your team or assigned by the Supervisor or Director
The successful candidate will possess the following Qualifications and Requirements:
Diploma in Early Childhood Education or Post-Secondary Degree in relevant field (Required)
College of Early Childhood Educators Registration in good standing (required if an RECE)
Minimum 1 year of recent and relevant work experience in the Child Care field
Knowledge of relevant legislation including the Child Care and Early Years Act and How Does Learning Happen? Pedagogical Document
Standard First Aid and CPR level C (with infant and child CPR) Certification (Required)
Current (within 6 months), clear Vulnerable Sector Reference Check
Up-to-date Immunization Record
