About You



You are an experienced Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) with a strong understanding of early childhood education in Ontario, including pedagogy, professional standards, and practicum expectations. You care deeply about quality education, reflective practice, and preparing future educators to meet the responsibilities of the profession. You enjoy mentoring others, contributing to curriculum development, and helping build strong, ethical, and well-structured learning environments. You are comfortable balancing big-picture program design with practical, real-world application, and you are interested in helping develop a new Early Childhood Education program from the ground up. You bring professionalism, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to student success, regulatory compliance, and the public interest.

Position Summary



The Early Childhood Educator - Program Coordinator / Instructor will initially join the college in a part-time capacity (approximately 10-25 hours per week) to support the development of a new Early Childhood Education diploma program. During this initial phase, the role will focus primarily on program planning, curriculum development, practicum design, and alignment with Ontario and CECE requirements. As the program moves toward approval and launch, there may be opportunities to transition into an instructional and supervisory role, subject to program approval, enrollment, and institutional needs. This position is ideal for an experienced RECE who is interested in curriculum leadership and program development, with the potential for longer-term instructional involvement.

Roles and Responsibilities



Help design and develop a new Early Childhood Education diploma program that meets Ontario and CECE requirements Support curriculum planning, including course structure, learning outcomes, and linking theory to hands-on practice Assist in developing the practicum model, including hours, age-group experience, student responsibilities, and evaluation methods Provide professional expertise to ensure the program reflects current early childhood practices, ethical standards, and Ontario regulations Review and help prepare program documents required for regulatory and professional approval Work closely with academic leadership and administrative teams throughout the planning and approval process Participate in planning and advisory meetings as needed

What We're Looking For:



Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators At least 5 years of experience working in early childhood education settings Strong knowledge of play-based learning, early childhood practices, and Ontario early years requirements Clear understanding of the professional and ethical responsibilities of an RECE Experience with curriculum development, program planning, mentoring, or supervision is an asset Teaching, training, or instructional experience in a college or professional setting is an asset Experience supporting students during practicum placements and evaluating performance Able to work independently and collaborate with academic and administrative teams Strong communication skills, both written and verbal Highly organized, detail-oriented, and professional Committed to high-quality education, student success, and public protection
