We are a

small, licensed family daycare

in Port Moody with a warm, nature-inspired, play-based philosophy. Our program emphasizes belonging, kindness, and exploration -- offering children a nurturing space to grow emotionally, socially, and creatively.

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Childhood Teacher to foster a nurturing and engaging learning environment for young children. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with diverse groups of children, including those with special needs. This role involves designing age-appropriate activities, supporting children's developmental milestones, and collaborating with families and colleagues to promote a positive educational experience.

ECE

certification (BC)

First Aid & CPR Level B

Criminal Record Check (Vulnerable Sector)

Up-to-date

immunizations

Responsibilities



Develop and implement creative, educational lesson plans tailored to the developmental levels of children in your care Foster a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages curiosity and learning Monitor and assess children's progress, providing feedback to parents and guardians regularly Support children with special needs or disabilities by adapting activities and providing individualized assistance Maintain accurate records of attendance, developmental milestones, and behavioral observations Communicate effectively with parents, colleagues, and specialists to ensure cohesive support for each child's growth Manage classroom routines efficiently, including transitions, meal times, and rest periods Utilize computer skills for record keeping, lesson planning, and communication purposes Demonstrate leadership by guiding assistant staff or volunteers when necessary Uphold all safety standards and regulations related to childcare and early childhood education

Experience



Prior experience working with children in educational or childcare settings is preferred Knowledge of early childhood development principles and best practices in teaching young children Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and team members Classroom experience demonstrating organizational skills, time management, and leadership capabilities Familiarity with computer operation for documentation, lesson planning, and communication tools
