About Us

At Little Cubs Learning Centre, we believe that early learning should be full of joy, exploration, and curiosity - for both children and educators. Our team is passionate about creating nurturing, play-based environments where children aged 18 months to 12 years can thrive, and where educators feel valued, supported, and inspired to grow in their profession. We implement the world-renowned Finnish Curriculum at the Centre and are the second Centre in Canada to do so!
We are expanding our team and looking for dedicated, creative, and enthusiastic Early Childhood Educators who are ready to make a difference every day. Our Pedagogy Lead is here to mentor and coach you if you are new in the field!

What you'll do:

Plan and implement engaging, play-based learning experiences that promote curiosity and discovery. Foster meaningful relationships with children, families, and colleagues in a supportive team environment. Create inclusive classrooms that support all areas of development: social, emotional, cognitive, and physical. Observe, document, and assess children's growth while celebrating their unique learning journeys. Model professionalism, teamwork, and positivity in all daily interactions. Participate in ongoing professional learning and mentorship opportunities. Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and licensing requirements Maintain accurate records of children's development, attendance, and classroom activities Manage classroom routines efficiently, demonstrating strong organizational skills and time management Lead by example in demonstrating leadership qualities and fostering positive behavior among children

Skills

and Attributes:

Strong understanding of child development and early learning principles. Creativity in lesson planning and classroom setup. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational and time management abilities. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. Positive attitude, reliability, and a genuine love for working with children. Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic childcare environment. Basic computer literacy for documentation and communication tasks.

Qualifications:

Early Childhood Education Diploma or currently enrolled as an ECE student - we love mentoring new educators who are eager to learn and grow in the field of early childhood education. Equivalent qualifications (such as Child and Youth Worker, Recreation and Leisure, or OCT) may be considered. Experience in a licensed childcare or educational setting is an asset. Knowledge of Ontario's CCEYA and the CECE Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice preferred.

Wages

Non RECE:

$21.00-$24.00/hr (including government grants)

RECE:

$24.86-$26.86 (including government grants)
