We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Childhood Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education and a commitment to fostering a nurturing and stimulating environment for young children. This role requires excellent communication skills, the ability to work collaboratively with staff, and a genuine love for working with children between the ages of 18 months and 12 years of age.
Duties
Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that meet the developmental needs of children aged 18 months -12 years of age.
Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment that encourages exploration and learning.
Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues through effective communication and collaboration.
Assess children's progress and adapt teaching strategies to meet individual needs, including those of children with disabilities or special educational needs.
Maintain accurate records of children's development and communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's progress.
Organize classroom activities that promote social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
Work collaboratively with other educators to enhance the overall educational experience for children.
Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in early childhood education.
Understand and abide by the Ontario's College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE) Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice
Qualifications
Early Childhood Education diploma or ECE student or equivalent (Recreation and Leisure Degree/ Diploma, Child and Youth Worker, Ontario College of Teachers qualified Teachers, subject to Ministry of Education director approval)
Experience working with young children in an educational setting is essential.
Strong understanding of child development principles and early childhood education practices.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, along with strong organizational abilities.
Proficiency in computer operation and basic computer skills for record keeping and lesson planning.
Demonstrated leadership abilities and effective time management skills to balance multiple responsibilities within the classroom environment.
Experience or training in special education is a plus, particularly for candidates interested in working with children with disabilities. Join us in making a difference in the lives of young learners!
