Job Description

The YMCA Child Development Centres-Saskatoon locations (Sutherland, Fairhaven,Brighton, Downtown) - is seeking a professional, mature, energetic, responsible, and committed person to join our team in a full time Educator position. Our Martensville location provides care for children age 6 weeks to 6 years old. Successful candidates will enjoy a membership to the YMCA Fit Centre including all registered classes, as well as a comprehensive benefits package after 3 month probationary period.

CANDIDATES MUST BE ABLE TO FACILITATE ENGLISH LANGUAGE DEVELOPMENT.

Some duties include (but not limited to):
- Planning developmentally appropriate and
stimulating activities in a play-based environment
- Participating in physical activities
- Encouraging child-led activities through
carefully chosen equipment and toys
- Teaching children the values of caring,
honesty, respect, responsibility, and
inclusiveness towards all living things
- Cleaning, organizing, and sanitizing

Requirements:
- ECE Level 1,2 or 3 issued by the Ministry of Saskatchewan along with relevant education.
- Related experience
- Current First Aid and CPR
- Current clear Criminal Record Check in the
vulnerable sector/Clear Child Welfare/Child Abuse check

Early Childhood Education Skills
- Provide opportunity for creative expression through the mediums of art, dramatic play and music
- Provide supervision and guidance of daily activities, field trips and special activities
- Prepare progress reports and discuss with parents and other staff members
- Plan and develop child care and nursery school programs
- Assess the developmental level of children
- Knowledge of Day Nurseries Act
- Knowledge of licensing regulations

Early Childhood Educator Assistant Skills
- Prepare craft materials and assist children to use them

- Discuss progress and problems of children at staff meetings
- Conduct and monitor activity programs designed for young children
- Bathe, diaper and feed infants and toddlers
- Arrange transition periods such as lunch and rest for children
