Job Summary
The ECE serves the mission of the YMCA of Lethbridge by providing quality programming and care for children in the centre. The main goals of this position are:
1. Facilitate engaging and educational learning through various activities based on your programs prescribed curriculum of Playing to Learn or A Place to Connect.
2. Build and develop age-appropriate programing and corresponding documentation.
3. Maintain a safe and clean work environment, ensuring the safety of all children.
4. Employment Type is both full time and part time.

Nature & Scope
The ECE will support the Association as part of the Licensed Programs team. The major responsibilities of this position are, but not limited to:
Leadership and Strategic Planning

Promote a positive, inclusive work environment, responding to general inquiries in a timely manner and in accordance with Association policies and guidelines.

Participate in the YMCA of Lethbridge's health and safety program including incident management and emergency response when required.
Identify and accurately report potential safety hazards.
Effectively engage in communication and information exchange with internal and external stakeholders.
Organizational and Department Management
Contribute to the completion of administrative duties within Child Care when required.
Execute program plans that allow participants to develop gross motor skills, fine motor skills, social skills, and cognitive skills through values-based programming.
Occasionally carry out tasks requiring a reasonable degree of mental effort and concentration.
Adapt program lesson plans to guide participants with different skills and abilities.
Model best practices, upholding high standards for excellence in team implementations.
Communicate developmental achievements and day-to-day updates to guardians.
Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the program space areas, ensuring equipment is clean and in good repair.
Complete required program planning and documentation.
Work in usually standardized conditions, under occasional supervision, with choice of action within defined limits to make progress towards assigned objectives.
Ensure all assigned checklists, reports, and forms are completed in a timely manner.
Report concerns to a member of the Licensed Programs leadership team.
Attend all required YMCA trainings and recertifications.
Financial Management and Philanthropic Involvement
Model the Association's dedication to philanthropy.
Participate in Fund Development Initiatives to further the impact of team efforts.
Adhere to the team's annual budget.
External Relations and Advocacy
Build positive relationships with members, patrons, employees, volunteers, and other stakeholders.
Role model team initiatives and projects within the Association.
Follow policies regarding confidentiality to safeguard data and information and handle sensitive information with a strong sense of ethics and confidentiality, in addition to all Association policies and guidelines.
Participate in external growth opportunities in alignment with team goals.

Qualifications and Experience
Early Childhood Education Level 1, 2 or 3 Certificate is required
Current Intermediate First Aid and CPR Level C certifications are required
Evidence of an acceptable Police Information Check and Child Intervention Check
Three professional references are required
