To provide a safe, nurturing and enriched learning environment for children while caregivers are participating in programming.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop, facilitate and evaluate age-appropriate programs to enhance the child's physical, social, emotional and intellectual development.
2. Provide an environment and activities rich in language development.
3. Ability to plan and deliver age-appropriate child-centered play and learning activities.
4. Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with children, parents, caregivers and KCFRC staff.
5. Maintain a safe, clean environment for children.
6. Keep accurate attendance records, detailed inventory of supplies, equipment and update as necessary.
7. Provide monthly reports.
8. Be familiar with, and follow, the guidelines of the Kings County Family Resource Centre (KCFRC) as identified in the KCFRC Policy and Procedure Manual.
9. Promote and maintain the integrity and philosophy of the Centre's mission, vision, core values and goals within the community.
10. To maintain confidentiality of family/participant, KCFRC staff, and Board information.
11. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Director.
Reporting Responsibility:
To report directly to the Executive Director (ED) of the KCFRC and be responsible for keeping the ED informed of all activities, new developments, programming, and needs.
Requirements:
12. A degree or diploma in ECE Level 1 or equivalent experience and demonstrated skill in a relevant and/or related area.
13. First Aid Certification Level C
14. Criminal Record Check
15. Child Abuse Registry Check
16. Class 5 Driver's License

The Centre has been in operation since 1989 and is a non-profit, charitable organization located in Kentville, Nova Scotia.
Through the commitment and dedication of our staff and volunteer Board of Directors, the Centre has grown from offering 3 programs in 1989 to now delivering over 25 programs.
We are dedicated to serving and strengthening families across Kings County and to making a difference in our community.
