We are a licensed childcare center in the heart of downtown Kelowna dedicated to providing high quality early learning and care in a safe, inclusive and nurturing environment. Our program is geared towards multi age groups and focuses on play based learning, child development and intergenerational experiences and supporting each child's unique growth.

Job Summary


We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Childhood Teacher to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating a nurturing and stimulating environment for young children, fostering their social, emotional, and cognitive development. You will implement age-appropriate educational activities while ensuring the safety and well-being of each child. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education and a commitment to supporting diverse learning needs.

Responsibilities



Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to the developmental needs of children aged 0-5 years. Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages curiosity and exploration. Assess and monitor children's progress, providing feedback to parents and guardians on their development. Collaborate with colleagues to create a cohesive educational experience for all students. Maintain classroom organization and ensure a safe learning environment. Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's progress and any concerns that may arise. Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge of early childhood education best practices.

Skills



Strong command of English; proficiency in another language is a bonus Experience in childcare or early childhood education settings is essential. Knowledge of special education practices and working with individuals with disabilities is highly valued. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with children, parents, and colleagues. Proficient computer skills for classroom management and communication purposes. Demonstrated leadership abilities in managing classroom dynamics and guiding student behavior. Strong organizational skills to manage lesson planning, classroom materials, and student records efficiently. Being comfortable interacting with seniors is important as we are an intergenerational center. Previous classroom experience is preferred, showcasing an ability to engage young learners actively. Requirements



Must hold a valid BC ECE certification.

Must have valid First Aide and CPR certificate.

Clear criminal record check

Infant and Toddler as well as Special Needs certification considered an asset.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $19.00-$21.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
