Code Ninjas Halifax is looking for an instructor to run our JR coding program for kids ages 5 to 7 years old! If you are a student looking to get into the teaching profession, this may be the perfect part time job for you. Although the curriculum is provided with lesson plans, we are seeking out candidates who are energized by the opportunity to really own the program and take it to the next level! We would love to have someone that can add their spin and sparkle to it to make it the most enjoyable program for the kids! This is a great opportunity to build a resume or build experience teaching coding. If you love teaching a group of 5 to 7-year-olds, then we would love to meet you! This is a permanent part-time position beginning in September. Qualifications & Experiences: MUST LOVE TO WORK WITH CHILDREN. Early childhood education training or schooling an asset. You MUST have a growth mindset, be willing to learn, and work as a team. You MUST also be FUN to work with!!! Sense of humor is important. Knowledge of and experience using Scratch, other coding platforms, various unplugged STEM activities, and/or various science experiments an asset. In-Centre responsibilities include: 1). You must be FUN to work with! 2). Paid Training \xe2\x80\x93 learn In-Depth understanding of our program processes and guidelines. Curriculum and lesson plans are provided. 3). Instruct and assist children with their STEM activities. 4). Work with children to determine skill sets and to document their progress. 5). Create a positive, safe, and FUN environment in which children can grow. 6). Provide feedback to parents of children\'s progress. 7). Follow opening/closing duties daily (in-center). 8). Clean and disinfect facilities and equipment throughout the day to ensure cleanliness is kept up to corporate standards (in-center). Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 10-20 per week CRIMINAL RECORDS CHECK REQUIRED Schedule:

• Weekend availability a must, Hours range from 9am-3pm.
• Some evenings Mon-Fri, Hours range from 4pm-7pm.
