We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Early Childhood Educator to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating a nurturing and stimulating environment for young children, fostering their social, emotional, and cognitive development. This role requires excellent communication skills, classroom management abilities, and a passion for early childhood education. Bilingual candidates, especially those fluent in English and French, with experience working with children with disabilities or in special education settings, are highly encouraged to apply.
Duties
Develop and implement age-appropriate activities aligned with early childhood education standards
Foster a positive learning environment that encourages curiosity and exploration
Observe and assess children's developmental progress and communicate findings to parents and colleagues
Support children with diverse needs, including those with disabilities or special educational requirements
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment
Collaborate with colleagues to plan activities and share best practices
Engage with families through regular communication regarding children's progress and classroom activities
Utilize computer skills for record keeping, lesson planning, and communication purposes
Demonstrate leadership in guiding children through daily routines and activities
Manage time effectively to balance instructional duties with administrative tasks
Requirements
Level 1,2 or 3 Alberta Childcare Certification
Clear Police Clearance Check
First Aid Certification
Experience
Prior experience working with children in early childhood settings or classrooms is preferred
Knowledge of early childhood education principles and developmentally appropriate practices
Experience working with children with disabilities or in special education is advantageous
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for effective interaction with children, parents, and team members
Familiarity with computer operation for documentation, lesson planning, and communication purposes
Demonstrate organizational skills to manage classroom activities efficiently
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $16.00-$19.00 per hour
Expected hours: 6 per week
