Job Summary


We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Early Childhood Teacher to create a nurturing and engaging learning environment for young children. The ideal candidate will have a passion for early childhood education, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with children of diverse backgrounds and needs. This role involves planning and implementing age-appropriate activities that promote cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development, ensuring each child's individual needs are met with care and professionalism.

Duties



Develop and implement creative lesson plans aligned with early childhood education standards Foster a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages exploration and learning Observe and assess children's progress, providing feedback to parents and team members Support children with special needs or disabilities by adapting activities and providing individualized attention Maintain accurate records of children's development and daily activities Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's progress and any concerns Collaborate with colleagues to plan classroom activities and school events Ensure classroom cleanliness, organization, and safety at all times Utilize computer skills for record keeping, lesson planning, and communication purposes Demonstrate leadership in guiding children through structured routines and activities

Requirements



Early Childhood Educator Position Requirements1. Education & Certification



Completion of an approved Early Childhood Education program.

ECE Level 1, 2, or 3

certification (depending on the position level). Valid

Child Care Staff Certification

from Alberta Children's Services.

2. Safety & Compliance Requirements



Clear

Criminal Record Check

including Vulnerable Sector (within 6 months). Current

First Aid & CPR Level B or C

(renewed every 3 years). Up-to-date

immunization

records (as required by AHS).

3. Experience



Experience working with infants, toddlers, or preschool-aged children in a licensed childcare setting. Knowledge of Alberta Child Care Licensing Regulations. Ability to implement developmentally appropriate activities and emergent curriculum.

4. Skills & Competencies



Strong communication and teamwork skills. Ability to create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment. Understanding of child development, guidance strategies, and positive behavior support. Ability to maintain documentation, observations, and daily reports.

5. Professional Responsibilities



Supervise children at all times and maintain required ratios. Implement daily routines, programming, and play-based learning activities. Build relationships with families and maintain open communication. Follow all licensing requirements, health & safety policies, and centre procedures.

6. Personal Attributes



Patient, caring, and warm approach with children. Reliable, punctual, and professional. Flexible and able to adapt to daily changes. Passionate about early learning and child development.
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00-$20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
