What You'll Be Doing
Interact with children to create a safe, healthy, and happy learning environment that supports their emotional, social, cognitive, and physical development.
Plan, implement, and evaluate age-appropriate programs and activities that foster growth in language, motor skills, creativity, and socialization.
Observe and document children's progress, behavior, and developmental milestones to support individualized learning plans and communicate effectively with families.
Collaborate with the Pre-School Supervisor in assessing each child's needs and contributing to the implementation of the care and learning program.
Establish and maintain positive, respectful relationships with children, parents, families, colleagues, and community partners, contributing to a supportive and inclusive environment.
Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all children by adhering to licensing regulations, health and safety policies, and ensuring children are only released to authorized individuals.
Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
Assist with daily routines such as meal times, toileting, and naps to provide consistent care.
Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment that meets all regulatory requirements.
Support the effective operation of the Pre-School by performing duties as assigned by the Supervisor and relieving the Supervisor as required.
Participate in ongoing professional development and collaborate with other professionals to continuously improve the quality of care and education.
What You Bring
Experience
Early Childhood Educator (ECE) Certificate licensed to practice in B.C.
Experience working with young children.
Current Emergency First Aid certificate.
Good interpersonal and communication skills
Medical certificate of good health, including tuberculosis screening.
Clear criminal record with vulnerable sector check.
Abilities
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Physical ability to participate in activities with children and perform routine cleaning tasks.
Ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including some early mornings or evenings, if required.
