Job Description

NICCS is a non-profit early learning facility serving children aged 0-12. We provide childcare, out of school care, infant care, and inclusive care.

At NICCS, we present curriculum that involves the interests of the children and makes learning relevant to life. Using Albertas Early Learning Curriculum Framework (FLIGHT), we embrace children's everyday experiences as the sources of curriculum meaning making. Curriculum at NICCS is reflected in the pedagogical observations and documentation on children's interests and developmental needs that notices, names, and nurtures the holistic play-based goals of curriculum and children's dispositions for learning.

1.

Prepares and implements a weekly programming plan that is age appropriate and develops the physical, emotional, and intellectual skills of the children.

2.

To ensure children are being supervised at all times. Aware of each child as an individual at all times and to know how many children are in ratio.

3.

Being aware of the Centres policies, health regulations, licensing requirements, and accreditation requirements.

4.

Be familiar with pertinent information concerning each child. IE: allergies, release info, etc.

5.

Creates an environment within the Centre that is age appropriate. The environment shall consist of all primary centres required by licensing which help the children develop to their fullest potential. The environment must regularly provide new experiences and a variety of activities for the children throughout the day.

6.

Ensures that children and environment are within proper hygiene and cleanliness guidelines set by health regulations at all times. This includes diapering, washing hands and face, sweeping and mopping floors, and following room cleaning checklists.

7.

Communicates with the parents on a daily basis through day sheets or conversation. Informs parents of any incidents or accidents that may have occurred throughout the day.

8.

Attends staff meetings, workshops, training sessions, etc. to keep yourself educated and knowledgeable about techniques and programs that are used within NICCS.

9.

Reports any concerns or incidents to the Program Director or the Executive Director.

Job Types: Part-time, Casual

Pay: $17.64-$24.95 per hour

Expected hours: 20 - 40 per week
