Early Childhood Educator

Job Description

We are seeking a experienced, dedicated, nurturing, and enthusiastic Early Childhood Educator to join our team. The ECE will be responsible for creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment where young children can thrive and develop socially, emotionally, physically, physically, and cognitively. The ideal candidate is passionate about early, childhood education, values teamwork, and is committed to supporting the individual needs of each child.

Key Responsibilities:



Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities and experiences aligned with the interests and needs of the children Foster a safe, healthy, and welcoming learning environment for children. Build positive relationships with children, families, and staff Promote children's learning through play, exploration, and inquiry Observe, document, and assess children's progress and development Guide children's behavior in a positive, respectful, and supportive manner Communicate regularly with families regarding their child's development and well-being Ensure compliance with licensing regulations, health and safety standards, and center policies Collaborate with colleagues to maintain a clean, organized, and enriching classroom Attend staff meetings, professional development workshops, and training as required

Qualifications:



Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate (Level 2, or 3 only), We will not consider applications for level 1 Valid Child Care First Aid and CPR Certification Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search (current within 6 months) Strong understanding of child development and Alberta Child Care Licensing Regulations Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment Patience, compassion, and enthusiasm for working with young children

Preferred Assets:



Experience working in a licensed childcare or preschool setting. Knowledge of theme based planning, and Jolly phonics. Bilingual or multilingual abilities are an asset Must have Level 2 or 3 with experience

Working Conditions:



Must be able to lift, carry, and move children or classroom materials as needed Work may involve kneeling, bending, and sitting on the floor Fast-paced environment with active supervision responsibilities Indoor and outdoor play in varying weather conditions
