Duties



Develop and implement comprehensive curriculum plans tailored to early childhood developmental stages. Design engaging lesson plans that incorporate play-based learning, hands-on activities, and age-appropriate educational strategies. Manage classroom behavior effectively through positive reinforcement and behavior management techniques to promote a respectful and safe learning environment. Foster social-emotional skills by encouraging cooperation, communication, and conflict resolution among students. Collaborate with parents and guardians through clear communication about their child's development, milestones, and classroom activities. Maintain accurate records of attendance and lesson documentation in compliance with childcare regulations. Support children's physical well-being by integrating teaching physical education activities and promoting healthy habits. Uphold Licensing standards by ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times within the classroom and playground areas. Participate in ongoing professional development related to childhood development, classroom management, and innovative teaching techniques.

Experience



Proven experience working with young children in educational or childcare settings, including preschool or daycare environments. Demonstrated ability to develop curriculum content across multiple domains. Familiarity with childhood development principles and best practices for early childhood education. Prior experience with classroom management strategies that foster positive behavior and engagement. Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with families, colleagues, and community partners. Experience implementing child-centered educational philosophies. Ability to adapt lesson plans for different age groups such as Infants, toddlers or preschoolers while maintaining a focus on developmental appropriateness.
Must have:

Government of Alberta issued Level 1, 2 or 3.

Must be able to speak, read, write, understand, and comprehend English

Must be available for all shifts/days the center is open if applying for full time (Monday to Friday 6:30 am - 6:00 pm)

Must have a recent (6 months) Calgary Police Background Check with Vulnerable Sector Search.

Must have First Aid/CPR.

Pay: $15.00-$17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 - 40 per week
