Position Overview

We are seeking a caring, dependable, and enthusiastic

Early Childhood Assistant Teacher

to support our toddler, preschool, and school-age programs. The ideal candidate is passionate about early learning, confident working with diverse needs, and eager to contribute to a supportive team environment.

This role involves helping implement daily programming, maintaining a positive classroom atmosphere, and ensuring our environment reflects the high-quality standards Tiny Hearts is known for.

What You'll Do

Support lead educators with interest-based, play-to-learn programming Promote children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development through daily interactions Encourage positive behaviour and help maintain a calm, nurturing classroom Prepare learning materials and assist with classroom setup for activities and invitations to play Provide individualized support for children, including toddlers and children with disabilities or autism Maintain a safe, clean, and organized environment that feels like a second home Communicate effectively with families and team members Participate in ongoing professional development connected to HDLH, child development, and inclusive practices

What We're Looking For

Experience working with children in daycare, preschool, Montessori, or private school settings (preferred) Knowledge of child development and positive behaviour guidance Experience supporting children with disabilities or autism (asset) Comfort assisting with curriculum planning, literacy, and early math concepts Strong communication and teamwork skills Ability to adapt to diverse needs and respond with patience and empathy Coursework or certification in ECE/Special Education is an advantage but not required Genuine passion for creating a nurturing, inclusive, play-based environment

Pay: $19.76-$23.93 per hour
