Required Credentials:



- Valid First Aid and CPR Certificate for a child care setting

- Child development childcare certification (ECE Level 2)

- Valid Police Check dated within 6 months of hire date

Required Skills:



- Experience in Experience with children

- Lead educator responsible for the smooth running of the classroom

- Discuss progress and problems of children at staff meetings, bring to the attention of the Director as needed

- Guide children towards positive behaviour

- Bathe, diaper and feed children as required

- Plan and implement programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children through effective emergent program planning

- Prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods

- Prepare written observations on children to incorporate into program plans

Additional Skills:



- Maintain daycare equipment and assist in housekeeping and cooking duties

- Keep up-to-date child records

- Attend staff meetings to discuss progress of children and seek support and guidance from staff and director as needed.

- Support educators as needed

- Role model best practices in daily interactions with families, staff and within the program

- Build and maintain a relationship of trust and respect with children and their families

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities:



- Bending, crouching, kneeling, lifting up to 25 pounds

Current First Aid and CPR certification (specific to child care settings) Alberta Child Care Certification - Level 2 Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search (dated within 6 months of hire)

Required Skills and Responsibilities:



Demonstrated experience working with young children in a licensed child care setting Ability to lead the daily operations of the classroom and ensure a smooth, nurturing learning environment Participate in staff meetings to share updates on children's progress and raise concerns with the Director when necessary Support and guide children in developing positive behaviors and social-emotional skills Provide care as needed, including feeding, diapering, and attending to hygiene routines Plan and implement developmentally appropriate, emergent curriculum that supports physical, cognitive, emotional, and social growth Maintain accurate daily records, attendance logs, and incident reports, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with licensing standards Assist with basic administrative tasks, such as supply inventory, parent communication, and supporting room transitions Assist with meal/snack preparation and arrange classroom spaces for meals and rest time Observe and document children's learning and behavior to inform individualized programming and planning

Additional Responsibilities and Skills:



Maintain cleanliness and organization of classroom equipment; assist with general housekeeping and basic meal preparation Ensure accurate and up-to-date documentation of children's records and observations Attend regular staff meetings to collaborate, share insights, and seek support when needed Provide mentorship and support to Level 1 and Level 2 educators as appropriate Demonstrate and role model best practices in interactions with children, families, and team members Foster strong, respectful, and trusting relationships with children and their families

Work Conditions and Physical Requirements:



Ability to bend, crouch, kneel, and lift up to 25 lbs as part of daily routines and caregiving tasks
