: $23.73/hour per BCGEU Collective Agreement, Grid Level 6The after-school program will run from September until the end of June each year. Duties and Responsibilities:
We are seeking a hardworking, enthusiastic person who will provide assistance in an after-school program In an elementary school setting. Duties include providing a safe, nurturing, atmosphere for kindergarten and/or school-age children, interacting with and supervising children and communicating with parents.
Qualifications:
Education:
a responsible adult, minimum 19 years of age with 20 hours duration of Child Development, Guidance, Health and Safety or Nutrition courses.Experience:
Previous work experience in a similar environment is required.Skills:
Well developed oral and written communication, good organization and time management skills. Knowledge of child development and age-appropriate developmental activities. The ability to function independently, under pressure, while managing emergency situations is an ongoing expectation of this position.Additional Requirements:
Successful criminal record screening.
Membership with the BCGEU.
Valid childcare first aid certification.
