Responsibilities

Develop and implement age-appropriate, Montessori-inspired lesson plans that nurture independence, curiosity, and joy in learning. Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that reflects Montessori materials and child-led exploration. Observe, document, and assess children's progress, tailoring approaches to support individual growth. Communicate openly and positively with families, building strong partnerships that support each child's development. Collaborate with colleagues to uphold Lark's values and maintain a cohesive, supportive team culture. Support children with diverse needs by adapting teaching strategies to ensure equity and belonging. Maintain classroom organization and cleanliness, while modelling leadership and respect in daily routines. Foster positive, trusting relationships with children through patience, guidance, and kindness.

Qualifications

Valid

ECE/ECEA Certificate

(British Columbia) or in progress. Experience in a childcare, Montessori, or early learning setting. Strong communication skills in English; additional languages are an asset. Knowledge of Montessori philosophy (or willingness to learn and be mentored in it). Familiarity with inclusive practices and supporting children with diverse abilities. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. A collaborative mindset and commitment to professional growth. Dedication to upholding Lark's core values in daily practice.

Pay: $21.00-$35.00 per hour
