Overview

We are currently seeking a compassionate, patient, and dedicated

Early Childhood Educator (ECE)

to provide one-on-one support to a young child with special needs in an early childhood education setting. The ECE will work closely with one child who requires individual support to participate in a preschool/daycare setting. This role involves assisting the child in all areas of development, including communication, social interaction, emotional regulation, self-help skills, and engagement in group activities--ensuring they can meaningfully access and benefit from the early learning environment.

Responsibilities

Provide one-on-one support throughout the day in a classroom or daycare setting. Implement strategies and activities tailored to the child's individual learning and behavioral goals. Foster inclusion by helping the child engage with peers and participate in group activities. Collaborate with classroom educators, and family members to maintain consistent support strategies. Monitor and document progress, behaviors, and any incidents as required. Adapt daily routines and transitions to meet the child's unique needs. Use positive behavior support techniques and trauma-informed care practices. Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.

Qualifications

A degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field is preferred. Previous experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting is essential. Familiarity with special education practices and working with children with disabilities is highly desirable. Strong organizational skills and the ability to lead classroom activities effectively. Current First Aid and CPR certification. Police Clearance Check with Vulnerable Sector Check
