Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Early Childhood Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will support the educational and developmental needs of young children in a nurturing classroom environment. Your primary focus will be to assist in planning and implementing engaging activities that promote learning and growth while ensuring a safe and inclusive space for all children, including those with disabilities.

Responsibilities

Plan and implement developmentally-appropriate programming that aligns with "How Does Learning Happen". Create a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment that encourages exploration and learning. Observe and assess children's development, providing feedback to parents and guardians on their progress. Foster positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues to support a collaborative learning community. Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's progress, behaviour, and any concerns. Support children with special needs or disabilities, adapting teaching methods as necessary. Maintain classroom organization and cleanliness to ensure a conducive learning environment. Collaborate with other educators to enhance curriculum delivery and share best practices.

Skills

Strong experience in classroom management and early childhood education principles. Ability to effectively educate and communicate with young children and their families. Experience working with children of varying abilities, including those with special education needs. Knowledge of child development theories and practices related to early childhood education. Excellent interpersonal skills to build rapport with students, parents, and colleagues.
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $17.20 per hour

Expected hours: 35 - 40 per week
