Early Career Environmental Scientist/Engineer,

you will play an important role on a team whose work is essential to achieving this goal.

Role

If you thrive in the field and have a passion for the environment, this role offers the opportunity to take the lead on diverse programs involving the assessment, monitoring, management, and remediation of contaminated sites. Every day will be different as you support and lead work across a variety of projects--ranging from urban to remote locations, including upstream, midstream, and downstream oil and gas facilities, as well as commercial, industrial, federal, and municipal sites.

Your expertise will be key throughout the full project life cycle, where you'll assist project managers with budgeting, planning, coordination, field execution, data analysis and interpretation, and reporting. Responsibilities:

Participating in all facets of environmental or contaminated site projects including Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments, remediation programs, and long-term environmental monitoring of sites.

Participating in fieldwork programs involving sampling and monitoring of soil, groundwater, soil vapour, and surface water, as well as decommissioning and remediation programs, and remediation system operation and maintenance.

Assisting with the preparation of a variety of technical reports.

Supporting project managers with project planning and coordination, reporting, and tracking schedules and budget.

Assisting with technical and financial proposal preparation.

Final agreed upon compensation will be commensurate with individual education, professional designation, experience, internal parity, and location. Qualifications/Education/Memberships:

Minimum of a degree or technical diploma in environmental science, engineering, geology, hydrogeology, or a related field.

Preferred minimum 1 year of experience in contaminated site work, including leading and supporting environmental site assessments (Phase I, II, and III ESAs), soil and groundwater sampling, and remediation programs.

Strong passion for fieldwork - this role involves significant time in the field. You must enjoy hands-on work outdoors and be physically capable of completing field tasks in varying conditions.

Willingness and availability to travel and work away from home.

Knowledge and practical application of health & safety requirements unique to oil and gas facilities, construction sites, subsurface investigations, and contaminated sites.

Ability to work independently and in small teams, including in remote locations with limited resources.

Professional status, or eligibility for professional status, with a recognized professional organization (P.Eng., P.Geo., P.Ag., E.I.T., G.I.T., A.Sc.T, P.Tech, C.E.T., etc.).

Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites and client locations
